A decade has passed since we unleashed "The Linear Scaffold".Solefald's debut album imposed philosophical fury on a scena still engulfed in nonconceptual fog.
We experimented when everybody else was busy being true
Now that experimentation is omnipresent in the genre we resume our initial stance:
"Within these running minutes, time has been subdued by our passion,
our desires - an expression thoroughly worked out by human mind and flesh.
In terms of intensity and cruelty, the musical barbary remains the same.
It has, however, obtained a new and more sophisticated vehicle:
The Linear Scaffold - The Circular Drain."
We dare state te following: History has proven us right.
By now Solefald is the oldest band in the Avantgarde niche we set out to fill.
With an unbroken succession of albums we have taken possession of Red.
Forever challenging sectarian dogma we stay hungry.
Critics have called us fruitcakes and eggheadbangers. We agree.
We think of our songs as Baroque paintings with several layers of meaning.
The apparent chaos of rivalling layers is what constitues the Solefald sound.
We named it: Red Music with Black Edges. Radical Designer Rock'n'Roll. Extreme Epic Metal.
As a duo Solefald incarnates all the ego and will of a philarmonic orchestra.
Miraculously, we dovetail as composers and musicians.
The gods out there know something about miracles.
We believe in them because we know.
We never expected to be around ten years later. But here we are, with unfinished symphonies to come.
At The European Academy of Extreme Music Science your two mad professors
set sail for the future with undiminished lust for exploration.
